SC 2012 Configuration Manager Servicing Extension beta available for download

This is a nifty new tool. Today on Microsoft Connect Configuration Manager Servicing Extension was released. It’s a useful extension for CM12 which adds a new node to the Administration workspace.

Once you have installed the extension, the new Site Servicing node provides several useful features.

1. Site Updates: Receive immediate notification of Configuration Manager updates as they become available.   You can filter the updates list on which major release they apply to (see below)

2. Site Versions: This is a great feature! It lists the sites in your hierarchy, providing update information, including the major Configuration Manager version installed and the most recently installed Cumulative Update.

3. Client Targeting: Perhaps you want to identify which clients have a specific major version of the agent installed, or create a collection of clients that have not yet been updated to your current CU version. This node lists Configuration Manager client versions that may be present in your environment.
